A cop stopped by on a motorcycle, saw the cat and told Frank he liked cats. The cat screwed up the plan for Frank and Cora to murder her husband by climbing the ladder that Cora was to use after she killed her husband. But the cat managed to get onto the fuse box which caused the fuse box to blow creating power outage. The police came back and discovered the dead cat. So many twists and interesting things in this film!
What was with that highway cop and cats?
I know the scene; I just thought it odd he liked cats so much. It seemed incongruous to the rest of the film.
