The Party is the third hilarious collaboration between Peter Sellers, director Blake Edwards, and composer Henry Mancini. The talented Peter Sellers is the sitar-playing Indian actor Hrundi V. Bakshi, alongside the beautiful Claudine Longet who plays aspiring actress Michele Monet in one of her rare film appearances. This movie is set to one of the most iconic scores by Henry Mancini. It’s groovy tunes feature a sitar, guitar, and horn blasts. I love the jazz quartet playing throughout the film.

Hrundi V. Bakshi, an aspiring actor from the New Delhi stage, is recruited to be in the movie Son of Gunga Din in Hollywood. Despite his best intentions, Bakshi's blundering mistakes lead to the destruction of the film's most expensive set.
